Like a weed

I had my 15 month check-up today. I now weigh 28 pounds, NOT 30 plus like daddy has been telling everyone. (Not cool daddy.) And, I'm 32 1/4 inches tall. Did you hear that mommy? Stop buying me pants that are 34 inches long!!! My doc says I'm doing awesome, and even noticed my two top molar teeth are coming in. That could explain why I've been a little grumpy lately. The two shots I got didn't help either. When will these shots end?

Waiting patiently to get weighed in.

Navigating class cliques

I'm really starting to love the toddler room. We're always playing with what the teachers call the sensory table. I get to touch all this funny feeling stuff like shaving cream and jello. The jello is super slimy; I love it! I even got my own official nap mat this week.

There are a few cliques (that means selective groups) in the toddler room. There are the older kids who are pushing 24-28 months and don't seem that interested in making new friends. There are the constant criers, which everyone tries to ignore. There are the artsy kids who are always at the coloring table taking all the markers. There are the puzzle freaks (it means they really like puzzles) and the book flippers. Right now, I've been hanging out with everyone learning how things work. I have a feeling the book flippers or artsy kids may try to recruit me. I'm an independent lady who doesn't like to be labeled so this is going to get interesting.

Ready to go with my new robot nap mat.

Passport approved

Now that my nose healed up, we went and got my first passport today. There were lots of papers to sign and then we did a photo shoot. I had to stand against this white wall and smile. We got a great photo on the first try, but it was too light when it printed so we had to take another. As I was posing a second time I got so excited thinking about going to Aruba, that I kept moving and the pictures would come out blurry, so they had to take a bunch of them. Eventually we got it. And in four to six weeks I'll have my passport and be able to take my adventures international. Who wants to come with me?

Waiting in line at the post office.
Saying cheese for my passport photo.

Home sweet home

We finally got to come home tonight. While hotel living is fun, I did miss all my toys, my tub and my bed. It sure is nice to be home. After this long crazy week of adjusting to a new classroom, living out of a suitcase and lots of dining out, I could definitely use a relaxing glass of milk.

Pomp and promotion

I got promoted to the toddler room at day care! That’s right, I’m a big kid now. No more high chairs to eat meals, now I sit with my friends in chairs at a table. No more crib either. Now I take my nap on a mat on the floor. The teachers make you stay on your mat for all of nap time, even if you aren’t sleeping. I don’t like that very much, but I guess I can get used to it. The toddler room has so many fun toys too. Plus we color almost every day and there is so much room to run around. There are even a few new boys for me to get to know. J

When does my diploma arrive?

Hotel living is the life

It's day four of the new year and I've spent every one in a hotel. And come Tuesday night, it's back to hotel living for me. Some man called handy is coming to remove mold from mommy and daddy's bedroom. It's really gross stuff, kinda like boogers stuck in your nose, but the mold is stuck in the wall. We don't know how long we'll be at the hotel and that's fine with me. I love riding on the fun carts they have.

Resolution ready

Happy New Year!!! In this new year, I resolve to cook more in my kitchen, to play with my cousins more, to look at mommy and smile when she wants to take my photo and figure out how to eat yogurt being a little less messy. Phew... That's a lot to resolve.

My cousins and aunt Heidi are so silly.
Feeding myself and the table.
NYE party. No photos please.
Cooking some yummy corn.
Do you like butter on your corn?
