Best bus around
The tumblebus came to visit us at school today. It is the most fun bus ever! There were ladders to climb on and bars to swing from and mats to do rolls on. I hope it comes back everyday.

Trouble again
I got in trouble at school today. We were getting ready for story time and I told my class to, "sit down and shut the f@ck up." My teacher said I can't say that...I just want to be like them.

Respect
I got in trouble today. I was told to "respect your teachers." I guess it's not OK to say "no" so much when they tell me to do something. Every time they said it they would wave their finger. I thought it was funny and I started waving my finger back and saying, "respect your teachers." The teachers didn't think it was so funny.

Preschool tryout
I was in the preschool room today! The preschoolers were learning about the letter L, so I got to paint with a lollipop. I also learned about baby lions and roared real loud. And, in the preschool room they play a fancy version of duck, duck, goose. It's called zebra, zebra, lion. It sure was fun. I hope I get to go back soon.

Valentine card haul
We celebrated Valentine's day at school today. I gave out SpongeBob cards with lollipops to all my friends and teachers. I even gave one to myself because I love lollipops. He he he. Check out how many Valentines I got. One, two, three, four. One was from Rafael. It said "for my playing partner." I think he has a crush on me.

I'm two!
It's official, I'm two! We had a party at school today, but I wasn't feeling that good. I got my first ear infection. It was not what I was expecting for my birthday. I really thought I was going to get a Minnie doll. But I'm mature now, so I'm taking it well. Plus I got to go home early with mommy and there was a surprise waiting for me. Balloons and a trampoline!!!! Best gifts ever!

Back to leather
We made it back to Boston very late Monday night. Next thing I know, it's morning and we're headed back to daycare. Everyone was so happy to see me. I hugged and kissed (closed mouth) everyone. Oh, and it finally warmed up, so I got to wear my leather jacket. The best assessory for a leather jacket? A zebra of course!

The chain gang returns
We finally got to go outside today. I was so excited to be back on the chain gang that I couldn't stop saying and waving "hi" to everything we passed. I said "hi hi hi" to people, to cars, to trees, to steps, to buildings, and even just to the air. It was contagious (that means it caught on and spread). All my friends started doing it too. The people we passed sure thought it was funny to hear so many little voices saying "hi."

Kiss and tattle
I was feeling extra loving today. I gave all my friends and teachers lots and lots of hugs and kisses. When I wasn't busy kissing, I was tattling. Whenever anyone did something wrong today, like not putting a toy away, I made sure everyone knew. Once I started tattling, I noticed no one really wanted my hugs and kisses anymore. That's OK. I'll just kiss myself in the mirror instead.

Pick your masterpiece
I've been doing a lot of arts and crafts at school lately. Here is my latest collection of masterpieces. Feel free to call dibs on any of them. Well, any of them except the fishes in agua. That's my favorite.

Pushy lady
I got another note home today that I am "aggressive and pushy" with my friends and that I "need to be nice." You know what I say to that: mine, mine, noooo!

Bilingual? Si!
My Spanish vocabulary (that means words I know) is growing. At day care today we drew pictures of fish in agua (it means water). I giggle every time I say agua. It sounds so silly. Agua, agua, agua. Hehehe.

Teacher's pet
I've been helping out a lot at day care lately. I help feed my classmates food on spoons, sometimes when I visit the infant room and hear a baby crying, I help put a pacifier in the baby's mouth and pat the baby. Other times when things look too orderly, I help the teachers make it messy again. Then it always looks much better. Maybe I'll be a teacher one day.

Finding love day
I've been trying to decide who I'm going to ask to be my valentine. To be honest, I'm not that impressed with the two boys in my class. I do have my eye on this older boy Theo. He's actually the brother of my friend Leah. I'm slowly learning Theo and me have a lot in common. We both like to climb. I overheard his mommy telling my mommy that Theo climbed on top of the roof of their SUV. That's so cool! We also have the same taste in nap mats. He has the exact same robot one as me! I'm not sure if he notices me, especially because he is in the downstairs day care room. Would it be weird for me to ask Leah to mention me to Theo?

The chain gang
Today was the first day all week it didn't snow or rain, so we finally got to go outside. We couldn't play in the park because all the slides and stuff were dirty. I didn't care. I was just so excited to be part of the chain gang. In the baby room when we went out we were all strapped into these carts. In the toddler room we all walk ourselves holding on to a rope. Don't worry, they strap our hands on to the rope so we can't run away. I learned you have to be careful to not walk too fast and bump into the person in front of you or go too slow and be bumped. I was bump free until I saw a dog and got so excited that I froze in place and started making ooh sounds like a monkey. I nearly caused a three-toddler pileup on Harvard Ave.

Navigating class cliques
I'm really starting to love the toddler room. We're always playing with what the teachers call the sensory table. I get to touch all this funny feeling stuff like shaving cream and jello. The jello is super slimy; I love it! I even got my own official nap mat this week.
There are a few cliques (that means selective groups) in the toddler room. There are the older kids who are pushing 24-28 months and don't seem that interested in making new friends. There are the constant criers, which everyone tries to ignore. There are the artsy kids who are always at the coloring table taking all the markers. There are the puzzle freaks (it means they really like puzzles) and the book flippers. Right now, I've been hanging out with everyone learning how things work. I have a feeling the book flippers or artsy kids may try to recruit me. I'm an independent lady who doesn't like to be labeled so this is going to get interesting.

Pomp and promotion
I got promoted to the toddler room at day care! That’s right, I’m a big
kid now. No more high chairs to eat meals, now I sit with my friends in chairs at
a table. No more crib either. Now I take my nap on a mat on the floor. The
teachers make you stay on your mat for all of nap time, even if you aren’t
sleeping. I don’t like that very much, but I guess I can get used to it. The
toddler room has so many fun toys too. Plus we color almost every day and there
is so much room to run around. There are even a few new boys for me to get to
know. J

Left standing solo
A few of my older friends have moved up to the next classroom at daycare, so I'm left with a bunch of the younger kids. The babies are cute and all, but I miss my pals. Good thing there is a new boy my age named Charlie that recently started. He only comes once a week now, but he will be full time in January. I can't wait to have a new buddy. The one perk of being the oldest is the teachers let me do special things. Like yesterday they took me down to the basement to get more milk and then I got to climb back up the stairs. I'm getting really fast!

I love climbing up stairs. It would be so much easier if my jacket sleeves were shorter. |

Halloween hoot
Halloween was awesome. First it started with a party at school. Once we all dressed up in our costumes--I was an owl--we had a little dance party to get warmed up. (Check out the video below.) My friend Vera was a peacock and Adi was a tiger. I kept swiping at their headpieces, which they didn't seem to like very much. Then we went over to the park and Wayne the music man came with his guitar and we danced and sang some more.
Next we met up with our friends the Ingermans and went trick or treating in their neighborhood. It was amazing. You just ring the doorbell, walk up to the person holding a candy bowl, smile at the person and take a piece of candy. So simple. I got it down by the third house. Sometimes I even grabbed two or three pieces of candy and other times I didn't grab any. Instead I put my hand in the candy bowl and just moved it around. No one seemed to mind as long as you smile.
Then today we had some friends over for a Halloween party. Mommy and daddy made all this spooky food, like mummy hotdogs, ghost bananas, vampire teeth, cheese spiders, human cheese fingers, vegetables shaped into a big pumpkin and we even had a pumpkin puking guacomole. (He he he.) That was my favorite. Halloween is the funiest holiday!
