City detour

On the way home from New Jersey we stopped in the city to see cousins Phillip and Cori. It was fun running around in the park and playing at their home. We didn't stay long because we had to drive home to Massachusetts. I don't know why mommy and daddy complain about how long the road trip is. The drive flew by for me.

What do you mean we've been in the car four hours?

Hello New Jersey!

Happy birthday America! We celebrated with aunt Eleanor and uncle Stanley in New Jersey. I kept forgetting uncle Stanley's name so I called him Joe. He thought it was funny. Papa Bob came with us and we had so much fun going swimming, seeing fireworks, helping aunt Eleanor in the kitchen, oh, and I got a Shrek doll. I didn't put him down all weekend. He's my buddy. I sure hope we can go back again.

Chatting with Aunt Eleanor poolside.
Just lounging.

Waiting for the fireworks to go boom, boom.
On a sugar high!

Look at me, look at me!

No fear, I climbed all the way up by myself.
It is scary coming down! Help!

Vacation Round-up

We visited Nana and Poppi this week!!! I got to ride in a tractor and go swimming a lot. (Mommy kept calling it a golf cart, but I like calling it a tractor.) Aunt Heidi, Mya and Lauren were there too and they brought PEANUT! I love peanut. She's my best friend. I had so much fun. I wish we lived closer to everyone.

I love my Nana!!!

Everyone say CHEESE. Oh, I want cheese!

Me and Peanut!
Lauren likes to watch shows with me.
Having breakfast with my cousins.

I'm a really good mini-golfer!

I can't drive until I put my goggles on.
Get in Daddy. I'm ready to go.

Can I get my own frequent flyer number?

I'm baaccck!

Can you believe how long it has been since I've posted a new blog? Mommy got a fancy new job in December and has been too busy to help me. Then in January we went on vacation to Mickey's house and we were so tired each night that we got back to our hotel and fell right to sleep. I miss sharing my adventures so I got daddy and Nana to make mommy feel guilty about not posting. Guess what? It worked!

Here's some of my favorite photos from the last few weeks.

MICKEY!!!
Me at Doc McStuffin's house.
The carousel was my favorite ride at Disney.

I always fall asleep just as the plane lands.
It was nice having my own seat this time.

On our first sledding
trip, "daddy fell down."

Sesame Street Found

I figured out how to get to Sesame Street. You just use the talking map thing on the phone. I'll warn you though, Sesame Street isn't exactly like it is on TV. All the monsters are so much bigger and scarier in person. Mommy and daddy thought it was so funny to see me freak out when they brought me near Elmo and his friends. When I freak out, my whole body shakes. I don't like it at all. Other than that, I had SOOO much fun going on rides with my friend David, getting my face painted, dancing to music, watching the shows and hording (that means hiding) many, many Big Bird dolls in the bottom of my stroller at Mr. Hooper's store. Daddy caught me and made me put them all back. Stealing (that means taking without paying) is bad. We made it fun by putting them back Count style. I squished 9 (ha, ha, ha) birds in my stroller basket.

Me and David going for a ride on the carousel.
Me getting a monkey, although it ended up
looking more like a weird bear.
Protect me daddy. He thinks I'm a cookie!
Why is Elmo small on TV and giant in person?

Cousin Party

This weekend we went to New Jersey. I got to see 14 cousins and Aunt Eleanor and Uncle Stanley. I went swimming, played with bubbles, went up and down and up and down and up and down the stairs so many times! Staying at Aunt Eleanor and Uncle Stanley's house is fun. They have so many things to touch. But, they also have a lot of rules about things not to touch--like chess pieces and small figurines and boomerangs. And there are rules about not eating dessert until after dinner. We have that rule at home too, but sometimes I give mommy or daddy an extra hug or kiss and the rule goes away. (Maybe it only works at home.) It probably didn't help that I kept calling Aunt Eleanor Nanny when I asked for a cookie. She corrected me every time and eventually I figured out how to say Aunt El. But that still didn't get me the cookie...not until dessert time.

I'm a messy cookie eater.
Check out my dancing exhibition.

Vacation lessons

I learned two new things today.
  1. I'm terrified of butterflies. Who knew? Not me and not until after we paid to get into the Butterfly Farm. There were so many of them and they were flying at me from all directions. Mommy kept saying, "oh, look how pretty." She is crazy. Butterflies are monsters. Never again!
  2. Warm pool water is icky. Who knew? Not me until I tried to drink it and daddy said, "don't do that, people pee in here." Ewwww!
Don't even think of flying near me, butterflies.
This is how you float in style.

This water feels warm, maybe a little too warm if you
know what I mean.

Hello Aruba

We made it to Aruba! This is just what I needed. A break from it all. No more waking up early for school. No more having to share this and share that all day. No more rules. Just the sun (so long coat!), the sand (it's like a giant sand table here!), the water and a tall bottle of milk and I'm in heaven! Just about the only not so good thing is that I keep dropping my pacifier in the sand and then it tastes gross. But it's a small price to pay.

No zoo for you

Can you believe mommy and daddy went to the zoo without me? The zoo!! I know, I'm astonished (that means surprised) too. I did get to spend the whole day with Nana and Poppy, which was so much fun. It was non-stop. We moved furniture, played with bubbles, watched Elmo, went for a walk and I even got to try and hide some of poppy's puzzle pieces. He he he. (He didn't think it was so funny). Even though I wasn't at the zoo, I did spend a lot of the day looking for a cat. Nana kept saying, "come here pussy cat." I looked and looked and looked and found no cat. I hope Nana finds it.

To grandma's house we go

Weeee! We went on a plane today. That would have been exciting enough, it is Passover and all, but guess who met us when we landed. Go ahead, guess? NANA AND POPPY!!

Nana, can we go on the spinny bag thing?

Monument and college touring

We spent the day today looking at monuments. Monuments are things that are built to commemorate (that means remember) a person or event. First we went to the top of the Washington Monument. It's really high up in the air and you can see the whole city from the top. Daddy was a little nervous but not me. I ran around, fell, got up and ran some more. And when I laughed it echoed, which made me laugh more. Once we got down, we strolled by the World War II Memorial then to the Lincoln Memorial. At this point I fell asleep, but mommy said we also went to the Albert Einstein Monument, which is her favorite.

When I woke up we were at mommy's college, George Washington University. I blended right in with the college kids when we eat lunch in the student cafeteria. At the GW bookstore I shopped a bunch and even got my first college T-shirt. For some reason, we spent a lot of time looking for a brick with mommy's name on it, something mommy got when she graduated. We saw lots of other bricks with people's names on them, but not mommy's. It was a very bad game of hide and seek. Mommy should really take better care of her stuff like she tells me.

Later in the day, we went back to my cousins' place. Tama made me dinner with all my favorites: tiny tomatoes, cucumbers and pasta. She made meatballs too, but I didn't like them. (Sorry Tama, but I heard daddy loved them!) Later on Max and mommy took turns telling me a bunch of bedtime stories. They were some silly stories that sure made me sleepy. I'm super sad to leave DC tomorrow. I hope we get to come back soon.

Capital adventures

Sydney got sick today so we couldn't play together anymore. It made me really sad. We left Sydney with Tama at home to get better while the rest of us went to this thing called a car show. It was in a big convention center and there were lots and lots and lots of cars. I got to sit in a bunch. My favorite was the pick-up truck. At the show they also had these things called "characters." I really, really, REALLY didn't like them. I was OK waving to them because I like to be friendly, but anytime we got close to them my whole body would start shaking and I would grab on really tight to whoever was holding me. Super scary stuff.

Later in the day, when mommy was at her conference, daddy and I walked around the national arboretum and the Capital building. I asked daddy what goes on in the Capital building and he said a lot of nothing. Seems silly to have a fancy building and nothing going on in there.

I do NOT like characters.
Can we get one of these trucks?

Capital from behind.
Capital from the front.

Passed out before I could make the coffee. I'm exhausted.

DCA cousins rule

Our flight down to DC got a little delayed because of some snow, but we made it. I really liked reading about all the safety features on the plane. Oh, and I got this cool TSA sticker shaped like a badge for walking through the metal detector all by myself.

My cousins were so excited to see me. All day Max would keep trying to guess what I wanted. Sometimes he got it right. Sydney liked to play this game where she would stand far away and say, "Lexi, high five." Then I would go running as fast as I could to give Sydney the high five. It was exhausting and super fun! Tama is the first person to really get what I'm saying. We talked a lot. And Warren is really funny. He always gets me to smile. He even tried to teach me how to play soccer. I can't wait to see what we do tomorrow. My cousins are the best.

This is a great plane safety story.

Check out the braid Sydney made with my hair before our starring contest.

Lexi goes to Washington

I just found out we're going on a trip this weekend. We're going to Washington, DC. Mommy has a conference to go to while we are there so I'll be spending a lot of time with daddy and my cousins Warren, Tama, Sydney and Max. I can't wait!! Daddy said we are going to go to museums and maybe this place called the white house. A white house sounds pretty boring to me. A yellow house with pink stars and blue stripes would be so much better. Maybe they will let me color the house.

Can I take my new boots to DC?

Passport approved

Now that my nose healed up, we went and got my first passport today. There were lots of papers to sign and then we did a photo shoot. I had to stand against this white wall and smile. We got a great photo on the first try, but it was too light when it printed so we had to take another. As I was posing a second time I got so excited thinking about going to Aruba, that I kept moving and the pictures would come out blurry, so they had to take a bunch of them. Eventually we got it. And in four to six weeks I'll have my passport and be able to take my adventures international. Who wants to come with me?

Waiting in line at the post office.
Saying cheese for my passport photo.
