The perfect gift
It is mommy's birthday today. That means I get CAKE!!! Did you know mommy is two months old. (He he he.) At first I thought I would give mommy my lambie doll, but I'm miss it too much. Instead, I decided to get mommy a great photo of me. One where I'm looking at the camera, smiling and I don't have a paci. I think I did pretty good.

Hookie and Growls Galore
Now that I'm writing again, I have a lot to catch you up on. My friend Yael taught me how to jump on a trampoline! I got my first real face painting. I picked an Elmo in a bathtub--two of my favorite things! I got to go swimming in two different pools, one time with floaties and one time without! Without floaties is so much better. I got my first tricycle, but I couldn't reach both pedals, even with mommy taping sponges to the pedals to make the space between the pedals and my legs smaller. Guess I'll have to wait to grow a little bit. Mommy and I played hookie (that means didn't go to work or school) last Friday. Instead we went to the children's museum and walked around Boston and went on a merry-go-round and played in sprinklers and eat yummy North End cookies. It was the best day ever!! Then on Sunday we celebrated Daddy's Day. Have I told you I have the best daddy in the world? He taught me how to do knuckles and how to swim and I love when he tries to scare me by growling. It doesn't scare me. It makes me laugh. That's why I started saying "Daddy so silly." I love you daddy!!! Extra hugs and wet kisses coming your way.

No sleep for you
I'm back! Mommy has finally agreed to start helping me post again because I promised I wouldn't stay up AS late anymore. These last two weeks I refused to go to bed before 10 p.m. I just haven't been tired and it is much more fun to stay up and watch TV. Mommy and daddy try really, really hard to keep me in my crib. But if I yell MOMMMMMY loud enough and long enough, or if I cry long enough one of them always comes to get me. He he he :). I did overhear mommy today telling my teachers to not let me nap as long. They said they wouldn't, but shhhh...they did let me nap for more than two hours today and only told mommy I napped for a little more than one. Sorry mommy, I got the teachers wrapped around my fingers too!

Bad daddy
Daddy didn't give me advance warning that it was Mother's Day today so I didn't have anything special for mommy. Bad daddy. I need time to plan! Geesh! I hope mommy isn't too sad. I'll have to think about how to make it up to her. Hmmm.

Raisin calling
Finding a new writing partner is harder than I thought. No resumes yet. I guess I'll have to stick with mommy, at least for now. To give her credit, she gets me. She understood today when I pointed at the cabinet and said "ney, ney, ney" that I wanted raisins. I've only ever had raisins once before. How she figured it out I don't know, but I'm glad she did.

Mommy is fired!
I need a new blogging partner. Mommy, apparently, is too busy to help me post as often as I like. This weekend, daddy and me went to the Basketball Hall of Fame. We got awesome videos of me dribbling, passing and even dunking! Have you seen them on my blog? NO! And why? Because mommy is too busy to post them. Daddy also took a video of me on my first big girl swing all by myself (and of me falling off). Have you seen the video on my blog? No! And why? You guessed it, mommy is too "tired" to help me post. She couldn't even manage to post a selfie Sunday!! It's ridiculous! I'm growing up fast here and need a reliable posting partner. So, I'm hiring. Post your resume in the comments if you are interested.

Party of three
I was so excited to see mommy when she came home (and not just because I was hungry). I hugged her, looked at her, hugged her, looked at her and hugged her again. I like it much better when we are a party of three.

Mommy's back
Mommy disappeared for two days and she finally came back today. I was so excited to see her I practically ran to give her big wet kisses. Then I quickly remembered that I was mad at her for going away without me. I decided to teach her a lesson and give her the cold shoulder (that means to ignore someone). I wouldn't even look at her. It made mommy really really sad. Of course that made me feel pretty bad. A lot of hugs later we're back to normal. She just better not disappear again.

Cheers, cows and carts, oh my
Another busy Sunday! First daddy and I cheered on mommy as she ran a race. We yelled "go mommy go" over and over again! Then we went to a farm where I saw cows and donkeys and turkeys and a goat. They smelt funny. At the farm I tried ice cream for the first time and didn't like it. It was so gross I spit it out right away. Yuck! Then, I got to ride in three different shopping carts. They were all different sizes and some went really really fast! Finally we made it home and I'm practicing standing up all by myself. I do it, but then I start crying. I'm not really sure why. Well, maybe it's because I know I'm going to fall within a few seconds.

What’s on the bus?
My latest fascination is with the Wheels on the Bus song. It’s
so catchy. At school we sing about the wheels and the wipers and the driver. At
home, mommy likes to make stuff up. Tonight on the bus there were book bags
that went “flop flop flop,” bugs that went “buzz, buzz, buzz” and other kids
that went “Lexi sit with me, Lexi sit with me, Lexi sit with me.” Mommy’s
singing is pretty horrible. She seems to make up lots of words to all different
songs all the time. (Or at least that is what daddy tells me). But, I don’t
want mommy to feel bad so I just smile and giggle when she sings to me. I
wonder what will be on the bus tomorrow?

Who’s a cry baby?
I had a great first day at day care! There is this really fun
play mat. Every time I kicked my feet the mobile started moving and playing
music. That kept me entertained for hours. Everyone was really nice and a bunch
of the teachers said I had the cutest chubby cheeks. I’ll take the compliment,
but pinching them is where I draw the line. I’m looking forward to going back
tomorrow.
Well ... I wasn’t going to mention it, but it’s bothering me.
Mommy totally embarrassed me in front of everyone!!! I was playing it cool in
front of my new friends smiling, laughing and squeaking. Then mommy had
to go ahead and cry when she dropped me off and cry when she picked me up. How embarrassing! Geesh—pull
it together mommy! Thank goodness daddy
is taking me tomorrow.

Day care here I come
Starting Monday, I’ll be going to this place called day care
when mommy goes back to work. I’m going to meet new friends and play with new
toys. Plus, Annie, who babysat for me once, and who I really like, will be
there. It sounds like a lot of fun to me. But, I’m a little confused. Whenever
mommy tells me about it she sounds really excited at first but then ends up
crying. I make all these cute faces to make her feel better, but that seems to
make her cry more. Don’t be sad mommy. I met your friends at work and they seem
nice. They even got me this great onesie.

WD-40 needed
I’ve been trying to speak lately, but it keeps coming out as
squeaks. I especially like to squeak at anything that moves. Sometimes it can sound
like I’m crying, but nope, just squeaking. Mommy gets me … kind of. Whenever I
start squeaking she’ll have a conversation with me, but she usually talks about
a completely different topic than what I was talking about. Silly mommy! It’s
hard being a chatterbox when no one understands what you’re saying. Good thing I have this blog so I can explain myself!

First date and mommy’s birthday
A couple of you have been asking how my first date went. I
was hoping you would have forgotten I mentioned it because I’m a little embarrassed
to say the date never materialized. (Mommy taught me that big word today.) Hudson
and I shared a few emails but then communication stopped. I’m not sure why. Mommy
told me it isn’t me, it’s him and that boys (other than daddies) can be unreliable
sometimes.
I did see Hudson again today at our weekly mommy and me class. We sat next to each other, but he played it cool, as if he didn’t ask me
out and then never followed through. I did notice he was much more
interested in the boy sitting on the other side of him than me. Just saying…
Today was mommy’s birthday. We spent the WHOLE day together.
I tried to be on my best behavior, and I was, except for when I had a little
accident and pooped my pants. After that, though, I was great. We walked around
the mall, had lunch with our new mommy friends, went to class, picked daddy up
from work and then went out for dinner. It was a long day, so my gift to mommy is to sleep through the whole night! Oh, how cool is this? I’m three weeks
and four days old today and mommy is 34 years old today. Pretty neat! Here's a picture of us cuddling on the couch tonight. People keep saying I look just like her. What do you think?
