Bring on 2016

Happy New Year!!! We celebrated by going to two parties today and in just two hours it will be 2016. Here are my resolutions for next year: Use the potty more, and not just to sit, but to really poop; eat less paint; grow tall enough to pedal my bike by myself; and learn to like characters in costume. See you in the new year :)

Screaming art

Today we went painting. I made three magnets. One was Minnie, one was Mickey and an octopus. We were having a great time until daddy yelled at me not to eat the paint. It was so loud I got startled and started crying. Then I didn't want to paint anymore. A few hours later, I'm not over it. I keep saying, "daddy yelled." I may never forget this. On the plus side, daddy helped paint the rest of my magnets and they look great on our fridge.

Happy painter.
Stand back and watch how this is done.
Cheese yourself!

Cousin time

I love when Mya-Lauren visits. We get to hold hands and run down the street. We go to the park and play on all the swings and slides. I get to sit next to them at meals and they show me videos on their iPad. Oh--and they bring me toys!!! They got me the best train set and a Stuffy doll that sings! I hope they can stay forever.

It's great having two cousins. One for each hand.

All this excitement makes me tired.

Pedal (almost) pusher

I'm getting so close to being tall enough to ride my bike. My feet reach the pedals, but not enough to push them all the way around. I still like going on the bike and scooting around using my feet. Mommy says I look like Fred Flinstone when I do that. (I looked him up. I don't think it is a good thing.) As long as mommy lets me go fast down hills on my bike, she can call me whatever she wants.

Down the hill I go. Weeee!

Cat rescue fail

I played fireman today with David. We drove all over town. We were going to save some cats from trees, like the fireman on Curious George, but David was driving really fast and he didn't like to stop. I kept saying, "David, meow," but he just kept driving. I sure hope those cats got home.

Did you see that cat? It was this big!

Clean up in booth 18

Eating spaghetti is the best...but it is slow. I can get the spaghetti on my spoon, but by the time I get the spoon to my mouth, half of the spaghetti is on my shirt or the floor. That must be why the restaurant gives such big bowls of spaghetti. When taming (that means to control) the slippery stuff gets too tough, I just use my hands. It is much better.

Tree time

I only thought trees were outdoors, but my friends Vivianna and Lucia have a tree in their house. Today they let me help them decorate it. We put on bears and balls and a monster and red beads and this silver shiny stuff. It was so fun. Did you know baby brothers go on top of the tree? It's true, that's what they did with their baby brother, Gabriel. Well, they didn't leave him up there long, because he was crying. He gets sad. I kept asking why is the baby sad, but no one knew. I think he was sad he couldn't help decorate. It's OK. Don't be sad Gabriel.

Look what we made.

Cover your eyes

Whenever I hear loud noises, I cover my eyes. It makes the loud noises go away. Daddy says I should cover my ears, not by eyes. Why would I do that? Then I wouldn't be able to hear that the noises have gone away. Silly daddy!

Did you hear that?

Present etiquette lesson

It's Hanukkah--Yay!!! I get presents and we light candles and sing songs. Whenever I see candles I sing happy birthday mommy. (He he he). But Hanukkah is different than birthdays because you don't get to blow the candles out. And, we don't have any cake. But there are lots of presents. I'm careful opening each one. You should always say "ohh, ahh" as you open a gift, even if you don't want it. That's just being polite (that means nice). When you don't want something, you just give it back and say, "Lexi no want this. Nother one." It works everytime.

Happy Hanukkah everyone!
Lighting the first candle.
Ohhh, ahhh. It's Doc McStuffins!

Book licker

I'm a big reader. (I can also be a big book ripper, but shhh, don't tell mommy that. It makes her mad.) I find the better a book tastes, the better it reads. How do I know how book's taste? I lick my finger after every page. My favorite is the Mickey book. It tastes like cheese.

This one tastes like banas.

Turtle helper

I love being a helper. When mommy's phone makes a noise or rings, I go and get it for her. Then when she is done sometimes she lets me play games on her phone. I do puzzles and the turtle game. I give the turtle a bath and brush his teeth and cut his nails and polish his shell. It makes the turtle so happy. I know because the turtle gives a big smile like this.

My big turtle smile!

Turkey trotters

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! To celebrate, we raced with turkeys this morning. I like to race. Daddy runs pretty fast and it is fun to watch all the people. I spend most of the race asking, Where's Mommy?" She is fast and always finishes first. I like seeing her cheer us on at the finish line. But the best, best part of the race is always the end when we get snacks. Today I got "cake" and a banana. I was so excited I pooped my pants.

Across the finish line we go!
After you run you get snacks. That's the best part.

Escalator extravaganza

I love escalators. (They are steps that move!) At the mall today, Daddy and me rode up and down two different escalators. We NEED to get these in our house. Mommy said yes because it will make it so much faster to get me down the stairs each morning. Yay! I can't wait until they get delivered.

Hi Mommy!!!! Weeeeee!!!!

Back packing

Finally, I have my own backpack to store all my important things, like my Abby, Ernie and Count dolls and sunglasses and my phone. I'm so independent (that means I don't need any help). Yup, I'm an independent lady. I just need to adjust these straps and I'm all set.

Follow me this way home.
Hey squirrel, want to get in my bag?

Holiday wish list

Hanukkah is coming up and I know what I want. I want a dog and two brothers. My friend Vera has a brother, and Leah has a brother, so I want two brothers. I told Mommy and she laughed at me. I'm not being silly mommy. I'm serious. You should go shopping. A dog and two brothers. Now go!

But I NEED a dog!

Shark head

My hair has gotten long enough that I need to wear a swim cap for swim class. Yay! I'm a little sad though, because after today I only have one swim class left. I hope Mommy and Daddy sign me up for more. I heard Daddy say he doesn't like to go in the water because people pee in there. I don't know what he is talking about. I drink the water all the time and it tastes fine to me.

I love my hat so much that I wear
it around the house.

The perfect gift

It is mommy's birthday today. That means I get CAKE!!! Did you know mommy is two months old. (He he he.) At first I thought I would give mommy my lambie doll, but I'm miss it too much. Instead, I decided to get mommy a great photo of me. One where I'm looking at the camera, smiling and I don't have a paci. I think I did pretty good.

Happy birthday mommy!

Pint-size workout

I like to get in a workout every night on our standing bike thing. I pretend that daddy is chasing me and I make my little legs go super fast. He he he.

Need my paci

We were shopping today and mommy left my paci in the car. I was tired and cranky and really needed my paci. I yelled so much in the shopping cart, that mommy took me down so I could walk. At first, I stayed quiet. Then, when mommy and daddy were busy picking out curtains, I walked back to the car to get my paci. I almost made it, but I couldn't get the store's front door to open. Plus the check-out person saw me and found mommy. Even though I didn't make it to the car myself, at least it made mommy go out and get my paci for me. Mission accomplished (that means good job).

Don't leave my paci in the car again.
You've been warned.

Lexi need that

My new favorite thing to do is look in the toy catalog and say "Lexi need that. Mommy, Lexi need that!" Mommy keeps telling me, it's Lexi wants that, not needs that. But, I really do NEED it--especially that Scooby-Doo doggie. Do you think if I say it enough that she will get it for me? That seems to work when I ask for my paci and she doesn't want to give it to me.

Fishy Halloween

I had the best time trick-or-treating with Bonnie and David. I was good and only took one piece of candy at each house, but David kept taking two or three! We were so cute, no one seemed to mind. I kept looking for lollipops and managed to collect four. They were delicious! Oh, and I loved my new fishy costume.

My fish face.
What? Fishes don't use pacis?

A fish and a dog walking down the street.
My trick-or-treating buddy.
Our first stop.

Hurry up, fishy. We got candy to get.

Doctor check-in

I almost forgot to tell you. I went to the doctor last week for my two-year check-up appointment. I now weigh 37.5 pounds and I'm 36.75 inches tall. I think being fully dressed and wearing my sneakers added to my weight. (Just saying.) I got some more shots and some stickers. Pretty standard if you ask me.

5K Push Race

Daddy and me ran our first 5K together today. Well, daddy ran, I just got pushed. There were so many people running it was crazy. We went so fast I could feel the wind in my curls.

Sitting through the whole race was
tough. Time to carb reload.

Me and daddy crossing the finish line. Go Hutters go!

Halloween take 2

Since I didn't like the octopus costume, mommy dressed me as a boxer for a Halloween party today. I was the 2015 World Champion Whiner. (Mommy thinks she is so funny.) I liked this costume a little better, but those gloves sure are heavy and the belt was bulky. Once I took those off, people didn't know what I was anymore and I just looked silly. We might have to try something else for real Halloween.

My right hook is killer.
You want a piece of this?

I'm two!

It's official, I'm two! We had a party at school today, but I wasn't feeling that good. I got my first ear infection. It was not what I was expecting for my birthday. I really thought I was going to get a Minnie doll. But I'm mature now, so I'm taking it well. Plus I got to go home early with mommy and there was a surprise waiting for me. Balloons and a trampoline!!!! Best gifts ever!

Why won't this hat stay on?
This hat doubles as a horn.
This ice cream cake is cold!
Does everyone have a napkin?

Birthday build up

It's not even my birthday yet and I had TWO cakes. And I got a Mickey Mouse that sings my favorite hot dog song, and a Mickey puzzle and a Doc McStuffins. Did I mention it's not even my birthday yet. I can't wait for tomorrow!

This whole cake is for ME!!
Alright, get your picture. Can we eat it yet?

Yummmm....Chocolate!

Age trickery

Can you believe my birthday is in one week. Whenever mommy asks me how old I'm going to be I say 13 months. Mommy always starts tickling my tummy and saying, "NO! You are going to be two." A lady never tells her real age. He he he.

Edaville adventure

I'm super tired, so this one is going to be quick. We went to Edaville USA today. It's where Thomas the Train and his friends live. We went for a long ride on a choo choo. Then we went on a lot of other rides. I got to drive a helicopter and put out a fire like a fireman. (I didn't really like that one). My favorite was going on the spinning boat with daddy. We went three times!!! The one bad thing about the day was when mommy made me wear my octopus costume. I cried and she took it off...and you know what, I still got candy trick-or-treating!

Daddy and me on the choo choo train.
I don't want to wear this!

Baker Lexi

I learned four important things at my cooking lesson yesterday.

1. Always wear an apron because
baking gets very messy.
2. Don't put measuring spoons in
your mouth and then into flour.

3. When baking, always stick
your nose in your creation.
4. Check to make sure you
made it right.
Who wants to come over for some homemade bread?
