The finger

Mommy and daddy are always taking photos of me. I know I’m adorable, but how many photos do you really need? They seem to take a lot when I’m sleeping. They think I don’t know, but I do. I can hear the camera clicking noise. They take even more when I’m awake. That’s kind of the reason I sleep (or pretend) to sleep so much. J

I got pretty fed up yesterday. I was calmly enjoying my swing and mommy kept saying, “Lexi, look over here, look over here,” so she could take ANOTHER photo. So, I slyly gave her the finger. (I picked up this trick from one of my friends.) Later I felt bad, so when I was cuddling on the couch I grabbed on to mommy’s hand to say I was sorry. Of course, daddy got a picture of it.

Working girl

Mommy took me into the city today. Well, not “the city.” Everyone knows “the city” is Manhattan. We were in downtown Boston. I got to see where mommy works and meet all her NICHQ work buddies. Everyone was soooo excited to meet me. I was practically swarmed the minute I arrived.

I was really excited to meet everyone too, but it was so warm in the office that I kept dozing off. Mommy’s boss, Jonathan, was “disappointed” (that’s a direct quote – I heard him say it) that I wasn’t up and he couldn’t play with me. He kept trying to tickle me awake and poke at me, which wasn’t very nice. I’m sure he wouldn’t like being proded here and there if he was sleeping. Erin was much nicer. She let me sleep while she held me, but she did make fun of my ears. She called them pointy and Vulcan like. If I wasn’t sleeping, I would have protested.

After hanging in the office, we went for lunch with Elissa to a favorite lunch spot. The sandwiches are longer than me! Then we ran a few quick errands and headed home on the train. I can understand why mommy hates the train. It took 73 minutes to get home. That’s double as long as it should take. The voice on the train kept saying something about traffic up ahead and signal problems. I didn’t really mind, I slept during the ride. I think I’m even sleep typing right now. Somebody better warn mommy and daddy that since I slept so much today I’m going to be up all night! … Maybe I’ll call Jonathan to come play with me then. J

I wonder if mommy ever sleeps at her desk?
Resting in mommy's chair.

Me and mommy's boss, Jonathan.

Sorry, you'll have to leave a voicemail. I'm busy right now.
That's a big sandwich!

Still sleeping back at home. Being cute sure is tiring.
Fake out - even after yawning, I went back to sleep.

Thumbs up doc

I had my one month check-up today. I've grown half an inch and gained two pounds and one ounce. The doctor said all my measurements are great and developmentally I'm a rock star who is already smiling and tracking voices and movement. I was so excited about the compliment that I peed on the table next to the scale and then spit up. Once that got cleaned up, I was so relieved and relaxed that I accidentally pooped and spit up on the nurse’s table. I must say, not my finest moments. I sure needed a bath today.

Hats off

You might have gathered by now that I like hats. I really like hats. They keep my head nice and warm, so what’s not to like? It runs in the family, because mommy and daddy wear baseball hats all the time. I should get a photo of the three of us in hats so you can see what I mean. I’ve amassed (mommy told me this means collected) quite the assortment of hats in the last few weeks. Some fit great, others, well, I need to grow into them, but I love them all. Don’t be fooled by the pictures of me crying in hats. That’s just because mommy insisted on posing me in a bunch of different ones when I was just waking up. Not cool mommy.

Me and my hat collection. This doesn't include my ones for dress up.

I have a lot of great hats that friends have made for me. (I'm still waiting for my blanket, Nana!)

This hat makes my cheeks look extra chubby! My leopard patterned hat is more slimming.

This is my lady on the town hat. Very chic.

Until I grow into this one, I look like I'm wearing a Russian trooper hat.

Sometimes, simple and understated is best.

First date revisited

Now, I know I’m supposed to play hard to get, but I got a text from Hudson today that he was in the area if I wanted to meet up. I really wasn’t doing anything else, and it was such a nice day out, so I said sure. We met for froyo and a short stroll before he had to go to an appointment in the area. I wasn’t feeling up to my normal chatty self, so I let Hudson do most of the babbling. He also showed me his super wicked bubble-blowing skills. This could be the start of something … then again, I’m way too young to get tied down.

I got a car!

We had quite the long weekend. It started on Friday when mommy’s college buddy, Matt, came to meet me. He came all the way from a place called Texas. He told me it was pretty far away. We spent the day together strolling, eating and napping. He is pretty cool.

Saturday I spent the WHOLE day with mommy, daddy, grandpa Bob and Carol car shopping. I was on my best behavior because I really wanted mommy and daddy to buy me a new car. Guess what? It worked!! Daddy is picking up my new car on Tuesday. Although it isn’t the smurf blue color that I and mommy wanted, I’ll still take it. I can’t drive it yet, but that is OK. It’s only a matter of time.

I think I figured out the trick to getting what I want. I just have to be extra good all day. I’ll have to try this theory out on some other things besides a car. Actually, now that I think about it, crying works to get me what I want too, but that is so tiring.

Since we were so busy, I didn’t have time to take many new photos. Below is one of me being a “good girly” with my hands placed neatly in my lap. Who can say no to this face?
