Cousin Party

This weekend we went to New Jersey. I got to see 14 cousins and Aunt Eleanor and Uncle Stanley. I went swimming, played with bubbles, went up and down and up and down and up and down the stairs so many times! Staying at Aunt Eleanor and Uncle Stanley's house is fun. They have so many things to touch. But, they also have a lot of rules about things not to touch--like chess pieces and small figurines and boomerangs. And there are rules about not eating dessert until after dinner. We have that rule at home too, but sometimes I give mommy or daddy an extra hug or kiss and the rule goes away. (Maybe it only works at home.) It probably didn't help that I kept calling Aunt Eleanor Nanny when I asked for a cookie. She corrected me every time and eventually I figured out how to say Aunt El. But that still didn't get me the cookie...not until dessert time.

I'm a messy cookie eater.

Happy America

We celebrated America's birthday today by going to my first amusement park. I liked the rides that went round and round, but not the one that went up and down. Oh, and I really didn't like having to wait in the rides for them to start. I didn't mind waiting in line to get on, but once I get on a ride, I want it to start right away. It always seems to take soooo long for everyone to get on and get buckled in. I get bored waiting and then just want to get up and leave. We stayed at the park long enough for me to see my first fireworks. They are these really big bursts of light. They are very pretty, but also very LOUD, and I don't like loud noises.

First ride!

Whoa! Fireworks!!
I don't want to wait, let's go.

Cookie!

Remember the old days when I used to let mommy dress me up for holidays? This is the closest I've let her get in a while.

My George

Nana bought me a George and I LOVE LOVE LOVE him! I took him with me everywhere today. We had breakfast together. He likes peanut butter just like me. He also liked jumping up and down and walking backwards. I brought George to Cape Cod for a party today too. I showed George how to make bubbles, pet a doggie and climb stairs. And, he really liked getting covered in chalk dust while I colored on the sidewalk. Silly George turned blue! I never put him down...except when I eat a cupcake. That is where I draw the line. I don't share cupcakes with anyone. Sorry George.
Never letting go!
I prefer the cup to the cake.

Hookie and Growls Galore

Now that I'm writing again, I have a lot to catch you up on. My friend Yael taught me how to jump on a trampoline! I got my first real face painting. I picked an Elmo in a bathtub--two of my favorite things! I got to go swimming in two different pools, one time with floaties and one time without! Without floaties is so much better. I got my first tricycle, but I couldn't reach both pedals, even with mommy taping sponges to the pedals to make the space between the pedals and my legs smaller. Guess I'll have to wait to grow a little bit. Mommy and I played hookie (that means didn't go to work or school) last Friday. Instead we went to the children's museum and walked around Boston and went on a merry-go-round and played in sprinklers and eat yummy North End cookies. It was the best day ever!! Then on Sunday we celebrated Daddy's Day. Have I told you I have the best daddy in the world? He taught me how to do knuckles and how to swim and I love when he tries to scare me by growling. It doesn't scare me. It makes me laugh. That's why I started saying "Daddy so silly." I love you daddy!!! Extra hugs and wet kisses coming your way.

Weeee!
Stop taking my pool toys!
Playing on the Greenway.
Face painting success!
Face painting is exhausting stuff.

No sleep for you

I'm back! Mommy has finally agreed to start helping me post again because I promised I wouldn't stay up AS late anymore. These last two weeks I refused to go to bed before 10 p.m. I just haven't been tired and it is much more fun to stay up and watch TV. Mommy and daddy try really, really hard to keep me in my crib. But if I yell MOMMMMMY loud enough and long enough, or if I cry long enough one of them always comes to get me. He he he :). I did overhear mommy today telling my teachers to not let me nap as long. They said they wouldn't, but shhhh...they did let me nap for more than two hours today and only told mommy I napped for a little more than one. Sorry mommy, I got the teachers wrapped around my fingers too!

Why sleep when I can take selfies?!

Happy Daddy

Happy (I'm still working on saying birthday) Daddy!! Mommy says you are three and seven. I don't know how you can be two numbers. I do know how yummy ice cream cake is and how distracting (that means take attention away) it can be. I'm sorry I didn't look up for your picture, but I really wanted the cake on the table.

That cake down there looks good.
