Falling latkes

Tonight was the first night of Hanukkah. It started out with a bang, literally me falling down some stairs and banging my head. Luckily, it was only a few until I reached the landing, not the really long stretch of stairs to the first floor. That's the last time I try to go down some stairs by myself. Not because it hurt so much to fall, but it was super painful hearing mommy tell me over and over I need to be a better listener when she tells me not to do something. Other than that, the first night of Hanukkah was super fun. We lit candles, danced to Hanukkah songs and opened presents. I got some puzzles, a toy car and a blanket. Oh, and I got this awesome fuzzy monster bowling set from Nana and Poppy. I'll admit I actually opened it over the weekend because I found where mommy was hiding it. It looked so fun and I was right! Even with all my presents, my favorite thing tonight wasn't for me. It was the Muppets figurines daddy got. He let me look, not play with them. He's a bad sharer. Now I know where I get that from.

I got Hanukkah balls yes I do,
I got Hanukkah balls how about you? He he he!

Still not a latka fan, but the floor liked them.

Selfie Sunday 57

Don't tell mommy I stole her phone and took some funny photos. She also doesn't know I know how to turn the knob on the gumball machine and get the gumballs out. He he he.

Check out my silly comb over.
Roar, I'm Lexi the lion!!!

Fish-tastic Friday

There is a dentist office that shares the lobby with my day care and they have this thing called a fish tank. Some days mommy and me go in and look at the fishies. There is a gray one and an orange one and a yellow one with stripes. I can watch them forever. It's so cool how they swim around and open and close their tiny mouths. Plus they can't lick me like Canela did - yuck! I especially love banging my hands against the glass to get the fishs' attention, but I can't do it too much because then mommy makes me leave. She has so many rules.

Wet and traumatized

It's taken me two days to write this post. I'm still somewhat traumatized by what happened. Sunday afternoon we went over to Mary and Victor's house. We've been there many times before, but this time was different. I walked in the door and their dog Canela was there. At first we just stared at each other. Then out of nowhere he started licking my face. I was paralyzed (that means frozen) in a combination of fear and icky-ness. Canella's tongue was wet, warm, sticky and smelly. And it was all over my face. EWWWWW!!! Mommy tells me it only lasted a few seconds but if felt a lot longer than that. It was the most gross thing ever. All I could think to do was cry.

Hanukkah dreaming

Guess what's coming up. Hanukkah. Seven glorious nights of tearing wrapping paper and playing with packaging. And then if something comes in the packaging, like things I can stick in my mouth, can you say BONUS! I can't wait, although I have to because it's still a week and a half away. We did go to a Hanukkah party today though where I got to bop to music, chase balloons, decorate a menorah and candle box and eat lots of play-doh. The latkes didn't do it for me, but the play-doh was yummy.

Be good to me Hanukkah Harry!

Left standing solo

A few of my older friends have moved up to the next classroom at daycare, so I'm left with a bunch of the younger kids. The babies are cute and all, but I miss my pals. Good thing there is a new boy my age named Charlie that recently started. He only comes once a week now, but he will be full time in January. I can't wait to have a new buddy. The one perk of being the oldest is the teachers let me do special things. Like yesterday they took me down to the basement to get more milk and then I got to climb back up the stairs. I'm getting really fast!

I love climbing up stairs. It would be so much
easier if my jacket sleeves were shorter.

Caffeine fix

It seems like everyone in the family loves coffee. They are always talking about getting their fix. Normally, I'm not allowed to have any, but when no one was looking today I snuck a sip. I don't see what the big fuss is about. It tasted yucky to me.
