Capping growth

My hair is really starting to grow! I can't necessarily always tell day by day just by looking, but I totally notice it in the bath. The hairs in the back are passing the dimple on the back of my neck. And the parts in front, well, they are almost mid forehead. Pigtails here I come!

Headed for a bath and
keeping my new hairs dry.
Why are you laughing? Do I look
silly or something?

Deceptive diva

Mommy keeps telling people I'm deceptive. I guess that is one way to describe my actions yesterday morning. When mommy was putting on her shoes by the front door, I walked into the kitchen and started going through her bag. There is just something about her lipstick and little bottle of hand sanitizer that draws me to them. Mommy came into the kitchen and saw me squatting by her bag. Thinking quick on my feet, as soon as she said, "Lexi what are you doing," I instinctively pointed to the window to try and distract her. It only kind of worked. Maybe if I didn't stutter step first in my brief shock I could have pulled the deception off. In going to work on that. :)

Sideways Sunday

Guess what I figured out? Those things where mommy and daddy keep all my clothes, I think they call them drawers, well, they pull open and push close. I've been having soooo much fun with them. I especially love to open them and pull everything out. It sure seems to annoy mommy though when she sees all my clothes on the floor. I hope they don't put locks on them like the cabinets in the kitchen.

Other than that, I just haven't been in the mood to look and smile at the camera lately. That means mommy ends up with a lot of sideways photos.

Duty done

I did my first civic duty yesterday and voted in my first election. It was really fun. We went in to the voting place (which doubles as my future elementary school), told these ladies at the check-in table our name (it's on the honor system) and off we went with our ballot to this little booth. It is just like drawing at school. You just color in a bunch of black circles all over the paper. It would be more fun if they have different color pens, like yellow, my favorite color. Then we took our ballot to this machine and it ate it up really fast. I'm told you usually get a sticker as a thank you for voting, but they ran out of them. Oh well, next time.

The machine ate my
ballot before we could
snap the photo. :(

Tell me tales

I've really started to love reading. I'm always carrying books around the house, flipping pages and asking people to read to me. I usually get so excited listening to the tales that I often can't stay seated long enough to find out how the stories end. I sure hope Curious George made it down the tree he was stuck in and that Millie Moo found her farm friends that were hiding from her. Maybe I'll finish the books tomorrow.

Who wants to read to me?

Halloween hoot

Halloween was awesome. First it started with a party at school. Once we all dressed up in our costumes--I was an owl--we had a little dance party to get warmed up. (Check out the video below.) My friend Vera was a peacock and Adi was a tiger. I kept swiping at their headpieces, which they didn't seem to like very much. Then we went over to the park and Wayne the music man came with his guitar and we danced and sang some more.

Next we met up with our friends the Ingermans and went trick or treating in their neighborhood. It was amazing. You just ring the doorbell, walk up to the person holding a candy bowl, smile at the person and take a piece of candy. So simple. I got it down by the third house. Sometimes I even grabbed two or three pieces of candy and other times I didn't grab any. Instead I put my hand in the candy bowl and just moved it around. No one seemed to mind as long as you smile.

Then today we had some friends over for a Halloween party. Mommy and daddy made all this spooky food, like mummy hotdogs, ghost bananas, vampire teeth, cheese spiders, human cheese fingers, vegetables shaped into a big pumpkin and we even had a pumpkin puking guacomole. (He he he.) That was my favorite. Halloween is the funiest holiday!
