Shpatziring

On Long Island this week, mommy, Nana and me spend most of our days shpatziring. That’s Yiddish for wasting time. You can be shopping, taking a stroll, driving around town – it’s all shpatziring. We mostly go to stores, buy things and then go to other stores and return things. Sometimes we go back to the same store the next day and return what we got the day before. It seems kind of silly to me. On one of our many coffee breaks at DD (both mommy and Nana are addicts) we came across a tie dye donut that matched my outfit. It was so funny we had to get one. Only on Long Island!

And guess what. We finally remembered to get some batteries for my mobile. Look who's super happy now.

Ohhhh...it moves and plays music.

What I ponder

I often ponder some interesting topics on my changing table

Why do giraffes have black tongues?
Look. Mine is pink. Guess I'm not a giraffe.

Present overload

Look at all these presents. Can you even find me in the picture?

No, they aren’t all for me. We had our Roth family Hanukkah party the other night. All us kids get presents from everyone and all the adults have a Secret Hanukkah Harry gift exchange. (I’m still not sure what this is. They explained it to me but I keep getting confused about who Harry is.) One of my favorite gifts is my mobile. I finally have something to look at when I’m chillaxing in my crib. Nana keeps saying we need to get batteries for it so I can see it move. I guess batteries are hard to find because she has been saying that for three days now. Oh, well, maybe next year I’ll get batteries for Hanukkah.

I'm a bag lady ... with pearls!

Having some fun with Hanukkah decorations.

I'm getting woozy from all the spinning.

Should I be worried about the flames on my chest?

A bunch of firsts

I’ve had a jam packed two days of firsts. I took my first car ride to Long Island, celebrated my first Thanksgiving, experienced my first grease fire (Aunt Heidi and Uncle Justin kept the tradition of keeping Thanksgiving exciting), lit my first Hanukkah menorah, got to meet my first cousins for the first time, had my first sleepover at Nana and Poppy’s, and got my first doll and first teddy bear. Whew!

I’ve learned that Hanukkah is another holiday like Halloween and Thanksgiving. Holidays usually mean mommy dresses me up in a funny outfit. I wonder why she hasn’t tried that yet? I hear the holiday lasts eight nights so I’m sure it is coming.

These are my cousins Mya and Lauren.
When will I have hair like them?
Mya's smiling because I just pooped on her.

Why do they photograph me near knives?
I was in a milk comma and missed tonight's candle lighting.

Aunt Heidi and Uncle Justin's house after the grease fire. Ha! Just Kidding!

I’m a turkey

I’m so excited to spend my first Thanksgiving in New York. We’re going to my Aunt Heidi and Uncle Justin’s house. I can’t wait to meet my cousins Mya, Lauren, Meredith, Parker, Norma and Frankie. I heard last year when aunt Heidi and uncle Justin hosted that the fire department came. I hope this year is just as exciting! Of course, it wouldn't be a holiday without some themed pictures. Daddy says pictures like these are child abuse, but I don’t mind posing.

Check out my crib

Mommy was telling me about this show called MTV Cribs, where celebrities give tours of their homes. The weird thing is, although it is called Cribs, none of celebrities actually have cribs. Since I do, I figured I’d give you a tour of my “crib.” When I first moved in, my room was a white canvas, because mommy and daddy didn’t know if I was going to be a boy or a girl. It’s taken me a few weeks to get it decorated, but I’m almost there.

Here is where I sleep. Pretty posh! It turns out it isn’t safe to keep bumpers in a crib. I don’t remember if it was mommy or Nana who had the brilliant idea to turn my crib bumper into an “L” for Lexi and hang it on the wall. Either way, I love it! They are so smart.

Here is where I keep all my clothes and where I get changed. We still have to paint the drawer knobs. I’m thinking a magenta or purple. Or, maybe pink to match the Pink Panther prints. What do you think?

Here are some of my stuffed animal friends. There is Socktopus (get it, because he is an octopus wearing socks), Sully, Maggie the monkey, Gerry and giraffe and Mortimer the moose to name a few. Sometimes I talk with them when I can’t sleep at night.

Here is the chair where I like to rock out and relax. That box on the floor is where mommy has been putting the clothes that I have gotten too big to wear. It's not classy, but it works for now. It also doubles as a book shelf. I’ve been looking everywhere to find a bookshelf but still haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for, so the search continues.

That's my "crib."
