Simply zen

I occasionally like to sit quietly, relax and clear my mind. Daddy calls it meditating. Sometimes I think about nothing. Other times I imagine things like what my stuffed octopus would say if he could talk or all the things I could grab if I had all those hands.

Shhh. I'm meditating.
OK. Now I'm done.

Mean girls (not really)

Me and my crew at day care like to color coordinate. On Wednesdays we wear pink. If one of them forgets, they don't get to sit at the table. :)

Memorial Monday

Today is another holiday, Memorial Day. It's a day for celebrating all the soldiers who died while serving in the armed forces. We were driving back from the Cape so we missed the Memorial Day parade in town. Even though I've never been to one, I think I would really like a parade. I hear there is music and flag waving. That sure sounds great to me. Hmmm. Wait a second. It's a holiday, but mommy didn't try to dress me up in a funny costume. I hope she is feeling OK. Maybe she has some pity on me because of all the traveling we've done this weekend or all the new foods I tried and almost choked on.

What? No costume for Memorial Day?!

Wedding crasher

I went to my first wedding Saturday night. It was fantastic. Everyone was dressed up all fancy. I got to wear this pretty pink dress and silver shoes and I danced and danced and danced all night long. The wedding was on Cape Cod. It's such a fun place. On Sunday I got to stroll along the water and go into lots of fun, small shops. I would smile and laugh at everyone as we strolled by and people would laugh and smile back. I love being a little lady of the people.

My pretty wedding dress. Just a quick picture
in the hotel. More photos to come soon.
Check out my new hat. The lady bug
smiles a lot just like me!

Rub-a-dub-dub

Whenever I eat food I end up getting it all over me. It will be on my shirt, in my hair, on my eyebrows, behind my ears, in my chin folds and pretty much everywhere. Don't tell mommy and daddy, but I intentionally make a mess because I love taking baths. When I'm this messy, I get to take a bath every night. He he he. I'm so sneaky.

Say hello to my little friend ... Mr. Fish.

Chewing catastrophe

These last couple of days have been quite the food adventure. I tried chicken, a hamburger, pasta, broccoli trees, cheese puffs and challah. I love egg challah. The only problem is, I get scared to swallow. I chew and chew and chew. Then I know I need to swallow the food, but it just doesn't go down as easily as the mushed up stuff. I usually start to freak out and mommy has to fish the food out of my mouth. I'm not giving up though. I'm determine to figure this chewing thing out. Send any advice you have my way.

Sometimes the food is so small it gets caught in my hand.
I love me some Zomick's challah.

CSI Boston

Bouncing around on my butt all day sure does make me tired. Sometimes I pass out right in the middle of playing with my toys. Mommy says it looks like a kiddo crime scene.

Big cruisin

My art show got cancelled yesterday. It was raining cats and dogs. (That means raining really hard.) The show got postponed until June 5th. Feel free to come if you are around. I found out we'll have a special guest, Wayne the music man! I'm so excited!! When it finally stopped raining I got to try the big girl part of my stroller. No more cruisin in the bucket-car-seat-turned-stroller for me.

This thing sure does make me look long.

Lexi van Gogh

I've been super busy at day care preparing for our art show on Friday. Last week I painted with my hands and feet. Yesterday I painted with my whole arm. Today I spent a while painting with rollers. I tend to be more of an abstract painter. I can't wait to share my paintings with you. Just don't be too critical. I'm still finding my painting voice.

Playing with my stacking cups helps me relax after
a long day of painting.

Market maneuvering

Guess what I got to do. Go ahead guess. You'll never guess it. I got to ride in a shopping cart ... in the big kid part! It was AWESOME! I loved looking around and seeing everything and everybody. I even got to help hold some groceries. It was only scary on the turns because mommy is a fast driver and I would slip to the side a little, but it was still super fun. I hope we get to do this every week!

Attention Wegman's shoppers, cuteness in aisle 3.

Mommy's day

Happy Mother's Day mommy! Daddy is helping me write this post so it is a surprise for you. I love you sooooooooooooo much! You are the best mommy and writing partner a little lady like me could have. I love you. Hugs and wet kisses!

Me and mommy.

Inspector Lexi

Since it was raining out today, mommy dressed me in a new kind of coat called a trench coat. Mommy said I looked like Inspector Gadget. She explained he was a cartoon that she watched as a kid. Then all morning she sang this silly song where she kept calling me Inspector Lexi and told me to "go Lexi go." It kept making me chuckle. Later I did some Googling of Inspector Gadget and found his theme song that mommy was trying to sing. Silly mommy.

Don't eat the grass

Yesterday we went on something called a “sensory nature walk” at day care. It’s weird that they call it a walk when we don’t walk, we just sit in the grass. I’ve never sat in grass before so I wasn’t sure what to do. Do you just play with it like a toy, or do you try to eat it (kind of like my toys too)? When I tried to eat a piece of grass I quickly learned you don’t do that. Grass is just for playing. Either way, it was just fun being outside.

Lonely lady

I've been feeling lonely lately. The feeling comes on whenever I look up from playing with my toys and find nobody is in the room with me. At first I get a little startled. Then I get a little sad and start to cry. Within seconds mommy or daddy will come back in the room, say hello and then I'm all happy again. It's quite the emotional roller coaster! I know they aren't far away, and I'm totally fine, but I like having an audience.

I love playing on mommy and daddy's bed.

Selfie Sunday 25

I've been sitting in a lot of high chairs lately. Here is one of me at the mall today. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Boys, boys, boys

Remember my first date with Hudson? Well, I saw him today for the first time in four months. I was a little nervous to meet up because I've put on some weight. Turns out so did he, so that was a relief. We had a good time. At one point Hudson ran his hand over my cheek and it gave me the chills, but I kept it together. We actually met up at our friend Nathan's house. Nathan and me ended up spending a lot of time together because Hudson kept crawling away. I think he was trying to impress me, but all it did was let me get to know Nathan better. Later in the day, when we were at the park, I decided to go on the swings with Nathan instead of Hudson. I think I'm crushing on Nathan.

Hudson and me hanging out.
Nathan is a certified hunk, even his shirt says so.

Weighing in

I had my six-month check up today. I'm now 20 pounds 2 ounces and 28 inches long. That puts me in the 95th percentile for weight and 98th percentile for length. I forget how big they said my head was, but that's in the 90th percentile too. I guess I do have a big noggin, that's what daddy likes to call my head. I got some more shots too, but they were no big deal. I'm a pro when it comes to shots now.
