No more *

Today it clicked. I figured out the walking thing. Instead of falling on my butt after three steps, I can get up to 12 in a row. It won't be long before I'm ready to run. One of my favorite new things to do is walk around the kitchen opening up cabinets. I really like the cabinet with the trash can. It reminders me of my toy holder since its filled with all different fun looking things. Too bad they always smell bad and I'm always being told to get out of there. I also think it is so funny to pull the drawers open and then stand underneath them and I love looking at my reflection in the dishwasher.

Buy Mortimer, buy

I like to keep up on the stock market by tearing through Barron's every Saturday. It really does comes in handy. We went out for lunch with mommy's friends Rosemary and Jim yesterday and they asked me what I think is going to happen to the stock market on Monday. Since I did my reading, I was able to say "hi." You heard it here. Better get investing.

Daddy, I took your newspaper again.

Trick trifecta

I've got a couple new tricks. I've been practicing my walking and have figured out how to string three steps together without holding on to anyone or anything. After three steps I usually get pretty excited, bounce and wiggle my butt and end up falling down. It's only a matter of time before I control my excitement and have complete independence. My other new trick is to wave and say "hi-eee." It seems to make others smile. When I'm inspired, I'll even blow kisses - the trick trifecta.

I have another tooth coming in and it hurts.
It's been making me sad this week.

Apples anyone?

I went on my first apple picking adventure today. It was so much fun. I got to stand on a ladder and help pick apples off a tree. At first, I tried just swiping and swinging at the apples and the tree leaves. That didn't make them fall down. Mommy taught me you have to turn the apples upside down and twist. I couldn't figure out how to do it on my own, so I pointed to the ones I wanted and then mommy grabbed them. We picked a gigantic bag of apples. I guarded them all in my new wheels, a red wagon I call Ruby. It's decked out. It has a canopy, six cup holders, seat belts and even a second seat for a friend. (I'm saving that seat for you Molly in two weeks.) It sure made getting around the apple orchard a breeze...at least for me. :)

One for me, two for me.
What do you mean all these aren't for me?

Labor lady

I plan to be a working woman one day. That’s why I’m excited to learn about Labor Day. It’s a holiday celebrating the American worker. I couldn’t believe it though when I learned that girls earn 77 cents for every dollar a boy makes. I don’t like to get political on this blog, but that’s ridiculous! I’ve decided to protest. Who wants to join me?

I demand to be paid for this photo shoot.

Bean lady and the bath

Like I was saying, I get myself pretty dirty. Here's a before and after from tonight. We had my favorite, Mexican chicken and beans. Looks like we'll be doing more laundry tonight!

(Beginning of the meal.) Don't disturb me, I'm eating.

(Middle of the meal.) Can I have some more please?

(End of the meal.) Ahhh, all full. That was delicious!

Finally, all clean.

Laundry lady

I love smashing food in my hair and rubbing it on my shirts. That means we end up doing a lot of laundry. I say we because I help out. I move items from my hamper to the floor, I lift the detergent bottle (which always gets grabbed from my hands right away) and then hang out and watch to make sure there are enough suds. The clothes always look like they are having so much fun flopping around in there. One time I tried to climb in, but mommy is a party pooper and made me get out.

I want to jump in and spin around too.
